An amazing cold cast bronze model of a 24th of Foot Soldier. On the 22nd January 1879 all that stood between the Zulu King Cetshwayo, was the tiny mission station of Rourke's Drift on the Tugela River. Manned by only 139 officers and men including those of the 24th Foot they fought of continuous attacks by the Zulus for over two days. Killing over 500 Zulus and losing only a handful of men, many survivors of this memorable battle were awarded the Victoria Cross.
